This is a seven-month virtual 5K Nordic Walking Series.

The series includes seven separate monthly 5K events from June through December 2026.

Each monthly event has its own official result.

Approved results earn points toward the overall season standings.

Final series awards will be based on cumulative points earned across the season.

Series Description

Join the inaugural 2026 NWANA Open 5K Nordic Walking Series - seven monthly virtual 5K events with cumulative season standings.

This virtual series consists of seven monthly 5K Nordic Walking events from June through December 2026.

Participants complete one official 5K Nordic Walking effort during each monthly event, submit their result online, and participate in the season standings.

This is an official results-based series, not a flexible activity challenge. Official results must be completed as one continuous effort without rest breaks or stopped-time breaks.

Nordic Walking poles are required for official Nordic Walking results.

Result Verification

All official results are reviewed before approval.

NWANA may review tracker data, including GPX/FIT files, Garmin, Strava, or similar activity links, screenshots, elapsed time, moving time, distance, pace, route/activity data, and heart rate when available.

Results may be rejected or excluded from official standings if they show rest breaks, stopped-time breaks, incomplete or edited activity data, incorrect distance, unrealistic heart rate or pace data, or other concerns that make the result unverifiable or non-compliant.

Participation

Participants complete a 5K Nordic Walk during the designated event date and submit their result online during the result submission period.

Nordic Walking poles are required.

Series Awards

After completing your monthly NWANA Nordic Walking Series event, use the RunSignup virtual results link to submit your result. For official standings, you must upload acceptable activity data, such as a GPX or FIT file from Garmin, Strava, Coros, Polar, Suunto, Apple Watch, or another tracking platform.

No. Official NWANA Series results must be completed as one continuous effort without rest breaks or stopped-time breaks. NWANA may review elapsed time, moving time, distance, pace, route/activity data, and heart rate when available. Results are not final until approved by NWANA.

A NWANA license is not required to register unless stated for a specific event. Licensed NWANA athletes may be eligible for registration discounts, rankings eligibility, education access, and other benefits as NWANA programs expand.

You may register before the event. The official activity must be completed on the event date. Result submission is open on the event date and the following day, according to the dates shown for that event in RunSignup.
